Building Together: Notion x Edge Esmeralda
Bringing Notion AI and the new developer platform to our builders and the businesses that anchor a small town.
TL;DR
Edge Esmeralda is partnering with Notion for our 2026 popup village (May 30 – June 27).
Small Business Lab: Notion’s professional services team and the Edge community work alongside leading local Healdsburg restaurants, wineries, and shops on adopting Notion AI.
Buildathon: a month-long build arc at EE26 with custom agents, deep dives, and free Notion credits to build with.

Overview
AI is moving faster than most people can keep up with, and it’s going to reshape how communities work and create. We think the right response is to build the conditions where more people can actually get hands-on and fluent with the latest tools, in context. That’s what Edge Esmeralda has always tried to do: create a place where frontier knowledge can spread and where our community can collaborate and build together.
This year, we’re doing that with Notion. Notion is the tool Edge City and Esmeralda Institute actually run on; it’s where our teams think through complex problems, coordinate across dozens of projects and partners, and move faster than we could otherwise. The tooling they’ve shipped over the last few months has made a real difference to how we work, and we wanted to build something together that went beyond our own team into the communities that we’re building.
So this June at EE26, we’re running two activations: a Small Business Lab that pairs Notion’s team with leading local Healdsburg businesses, and a month-long Buildathon for the 500+ attendees who call the village home.
Here’s what that will look like.
Notion Small Business Lab
Through the month, Notion’s professional services team and members of the Edge community are working alongside a handful of leading Healdsburg restaurants, wineries, and shops. The goal: take the repetitive busy-work off their plates so they can spend more time on what they’re great at, the craft and the customer experience.

Buildathon
We’re running a buildathon that stretches across the whole month. Onboarding and resources from week one, hands-on workshops through the middle weeks, and a focused build sprint in week three, where people ship something real and demo it on Friday.
This will include: custom agents, deep dives, projects on Notion’s new developer platform, and free Notion credits to build with. You can jump in whenever works for you, whether that’s day one or week three.
By the end of June, the goal is that everyone walks out with something real. A live agent. A workflow that runs. A piece of infrastructure they can take home.

What’s Next
What we’ll know by the end of June: whether a real popup village, embedded in a real town, can move AI tools from the hands of builders into the hands of the operators who could most use them. We think it can, and we’re glad to be doing it with Notion.
If you’re curious about how to set up your own agents, or want to see first-hand what it looks like when communities start to adopt AI, Edge Esmeralda 2026 is a chance to do that.
Final tickets are on sale now if you want to join us.
