Tickets for Edge Esmeralda 2026
Ticket pricing & principles for this year’s popup village (early bird til Jan 20th)
TLDR: We’re extending early bird pricing to January 20th - get your ticket at the lowest price now! After Jan 20th, prices will regularly increase up to the event.
If you’re unsure which week works best, you can purchase any week now and transfer it before April, or upgrade to the full month and still receive the longer-stay discount.
Pricing Principles
This is how we’re approaching pricing for Edge Esmeralda 2026:
Encourage longer stays: We strongly encourage staying longer rather than shorter. Those who come for the full month (May 30 – June 27) will have the most immersive experience, since a large part of what we’re testing is different ways of living and working together. As a result, the longer you stay, the cheaper the cost per day.
Scholarships: We aim to make Edge Esmeralda welcoming to researchers, scientists, young builders, open-source developers, and artists. We offer a limited number of scholarship tickets for those who need financial assistance and can contribute in meaningful ways; scholarship recipients commit to roughly 10 hours/week of volunteer effort during the event. Please indicate your need for a scholarship in your application.
Welcoming to families: One of our key design goals is to be family-friendly. Children’s tickets and programming details will be announced soon.
Thank you to locals: We’re grateful to Healdsburg and wider Sonoma County for hosting us. Local resident ticket pricing will be announced soon.
Pricing
Early bird tickets are available now through January 20th, 2026. After that, prices increase; and will continue increasing until the event starts. We recommend getting your tickets early.
Flexibility: Not sure which week works for you? Buy a week ticket now at early bird pricing and transfer it to a different week or upgrade to a monthlong ticket (“longer stay” discount will be applied) anytime before April.
Residencies
We’ll be hosting residencies throughout Edge Esmeralda; think of these as programs or tracks run by partner organizations, each with its own focus and programming. Residency applications will open later this year.
Important: If you’re planning to join through a residency, you’ll still need an Edge Esmeralda ticket. Your residency provides focused programming; your ticket unlocks access to the full village: co-working spaces, village-wide events (seminars, talks, wellbeing program, etc.), and the broader community. We recommend buying your ticket now at early bird pricing, then applying to residencies when applications open.
Scholarship Tickets
We have a limited number of scholarships for those who need financial assistance to participate. Scholarship recipients are expected to contribute roughly 10 hours/week of volunteer effort during the event. We’re prioritizing scholars who apply for the full experience (May 30 – June 27, 2026).
To apply, select the scholarship option in your application and submit a 60-second video explaining why you’re applying and what your contribution might be.
Patron Tickets
This tier includes all aspects of a standard ticket, with an additional donation to our 501(c)(3). Patron tickets help keep prices accessible for builders, researchers, and young people—and help fund scholarships for those with less financial means.
Patron tickets start at $5,000.

How Ticket Proceeds Are Spent
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our intention is for ticket revenue to cover event expenses. Creating a memorable experience involves high costs, and it’s important that this event is self-sustaining.
Major costs include:
Infrastructure and logistics
Leasing event spaces for seminars and talks
Building out the co-working space
Community events, including weekly community dinners
Wellbeing activities and facilities
Local production support
Legal fees and insurance
Scholarships for those with less financial means
Core team’s time (planning began 9+ months in advance)
We can’t wait to see you in Healdsburg. Every time we do one of these events, it’s a real community effort; it’s hard work, but it’s always worthwhile to see what people co-create together. We know this year will be a very meaningful experience for everyone.
See you soon ☀︎
